Apparatus
The Hudson Fire
Department has a fleet comprising of 5 vehicles, a boat and
a compliment of 36 firefighters. The fleet includes: a 20’
rib craft purchased in 2003, a 2000 GMC Safari, a 1994 Simon-Duplex/Saulsbury
engine (Stainless Steel), a 1991 Tibotrac heavy rescue, a 1986
LTI Ladder Tower, and a 1986 Spartan tanker-pumper.
The rib craft boat is equipped with a rescue net, medical supplies
with backboard, ropes for towing and rescue operations, Dave
Clark head set with intercom, marine radio, seats for personnel.
The Safari van
is equipped with full medical supplies including 2 defibrillators
and has seating for 3 firefighters.
The engine has
a 500hp motor with Jacob brake, 1250 gpm pump, 500 gal. tank,
on board Onan generator and seating for 10 firefighters with
7 S.C.B.A 911 seats.
The heavy rescue
carries a mobile cascade system, Holmatro Jaws with cutters
and rams, high pressure air bags, integrated Onan generator
with 2 portable Honda generators, positive pressure ventilator,
forcible entry tools(manual and hydraulic), chain saws, circular
saws, thermal imaging camera, multi-gas detector and ice water
rescue equipment. This rescue is also a walk-in type that carries
Scott 2.2 air packs with buddy breathing system. Every firefighter
on the department is issued a mask and quick connect regulator.
The 100 foot
LTI Ladder Tower is powered by a 475 horsepower Detroit Diesel
8V92TA engine coupled to an Allison automatic transmission,
mounted on a Simon-Duplex/Saulsbury chassis and a stainless
steel body. The truck is also equipped with a single stage 1500
GPM Waterous pump, 300 gallon poly tank reservoir, an Onan 3KW
generator, Jacob Brake, and can carry a 5 man crew in its enclosed
cab.
The tanker also
has a 450hp motor with Jacob brake, 1050 pump, 2100gal. tank,
port-a-tank, 500 gal. portable pump and seating for 6 firefighters
and 6 S.C.B.A’s.
Our engine and
tanker are equipped with 5” supply hose, 2 ½ and
1 ¾ attack hose, assorted tools and foam applicators.
