Code
Red for Palliative Care
The Hudson Volunteer Firefighters Association
launched a fundraising drive for the Palliative Care Centre
project. The firefighters gave a $10,000 promissory cheque during
a fundraiser early this year, and are circulating hardcover
copies of Gilles Renaud and David Homel’s “Code
Red,” a hardcover coffee book offering insight into Montreal
firefighters and the region’s toughest job. The 191 page
books are selling for $10 at select locations, and the first
$10,000 of every dollar sold goes to the Palliative Care Centre,
with every dollar thereafter going to the James Ratcliffe Scholarship
Fund. The books are available at the station on Saturdays, and
can also be picked up at the Hudson Town Hall, the community
centre and Hudson Variety. Limited copies are also available
at the Hudson/St. Lazare Gazette. – MB
